Stretch film is the best practical and versatile new generation packaging material with great benefits and low cost. Stretch film has the ability to stretch without changing its width, with the subsequent desire to restore its shape, which greatly facilitates the work with finished products in warehouses and the transportation of various goods. One of the most important performance characteristics of pallet stretch film is the amount of pre-stretch (prestretch), i.e. the amount by which the film can be stretched when wrapping pallets, ensuring guaranteed fastening and integrity of the cargo without damaging the film. In general, manual pallet stretch films have a pre-stretch of 70-100%, while machine-made pallet stretch films have a pre-stretch of 100-300%.
The unique property of stretch film is the stickiness of the layers to each other. Due to this layer, they fit tightly to each other during winding, forming a sealed package. Stretch film is mainly used for packaging and fixing goods on pallets, as well as for packaging long products by rotational spiral wrapping.
According to the method of packaging, stretch film is divided into manual and machine. Manual stretch film is used on hand-held devices (dispensers), while stretch film is used on special machine units (palletizers) equipped with various film stretching systems.
